When I lived in Manhattan I'd go there whenever I needed an
uplift. Considered the first modern car, designed by Pinin
Farina, and just gorgeous-based on an 1100 chasis. There and
then the Intrepid to check out the cut-away radial pratt and
whitney R2800 (talk about no substitute for cubic inches). Kind
of my version of
religion. che machina!

There's one on display at the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg museum in
Auburn, IN.
Smaller than I thought they were.

I used to know a guy who basically was kind of a horse trader,
but with cars in his spare time. He was really into English
cars and still had his first car, an MG TD, that last I knew
had over 200,000 miles on it. He also had a slew of Sunbeams
(Alpines and Tigers), a Daimler Dart with 23,000 miles. He and
a friend owned a Cisitalia 202, with a broken crankshaft. They
found that it would cost $6000 to fix, but they would be
nowhere near upside down in it.

Ciao,
Bryce Ludwig
