was thinking about installing one.

what's the word on this ignition thingimabob? who's got one?
any downsides? was checking out the crane website; is the 3000
kit all you need, or are the other accessories (optical trigger,
coils, mounting kit) necessary for an installation?

I have one on my spider and it works just fine. The kit is
comptlete, there is nothing additional you need. I assume you
are converting a dual point distributor?

I would recomend you order Cranes coil for this unit. I have two
Cranes and the stock coil is wrong for the crane, Also the Bosh
Blue coil ids Wrong for the crane. Read there info on the web.
Also you might notice that you can order direct and save a few
bucks. Great product. \Several times I have yelled and screamed
at the Crane ingition for failing , just to find out it was
something else :) I like the 3000 over the 700 but of cource it
cost more. If you have a 78 dual point remember you have no
external resistor. But the 3000 with the crane coil is the best
route, my 2 cents

The XR3000 with Crane coil has been working great in my '75, and
was an easy install. The combination of the printed instructions
and Crane's website tell everything you need to know for the job.
Good luck!
