Pete:
Help me out with this one. Abarth made an 850TC based on the
600 body with a completely-Abarth twin-cam head. And they made
the Belina Corsa, it was 1-liter, but push-rod based on the 600
body and engine.
And Abarth made the 850-based 1-liter cars, which were the
OT1000 series: 1000 OT, 1000 OTS, and 1000 OTR.
I'm confused about the '1000 TC' designation. Which body and
engine was it based on? Or is that the question?

According to "Abarth Buyer's Guide" by Peter Vack, the 1000TC was
built from '62 to '64. A picture on page 34 shows a fairly stock
looking 600D bodied car, ie, no radiator in the nose. 4"x13"
magnesium-alloy Elektron wheels were an option. The early cars
used 600D blocks bored and stroked out to 982cc. Later cars used
the special castings from Bialbero's and Monomilles, identified
by the AH cast into the right side of the block.

Hi Pete!
Check your email for the photos (Sorry guys, I'm computer
illiterate & don't know how to post a photo-link!) :^)
According to the book "Abarth Catalogue Raisonne" (p.185/p.191),
the 1000 TC was based on the 600d body & engine (65x74=982cc).
The 1965 1000 TC had a stock-looking body with the small
"catfish" front radiator shroud, tripod-style rear deck lid
props, a 12.2:1 compression ratio, Weber 36 DCD7 carb, 80HP @
7400RPM, 5-speed gearbox, front & rear disc brakes, 4.5"x13"
tires on narrow Campagnolo wheels, weighed 590-617kg & had a top
speed of around 185-190KPH.
The 1966 "1000 TC Berlina Corsa" had the late (larger) front
radiator shroud, tripod deck lid props, flared front fenders &
large rear fender flares, a 13:1 compression ratio, Weber 36 DCD7
carb, 85HP @ 7600RPM, 5-speed gearbox, front & rear disc brakes,
4.5"x13" tires on narrow Campagnolo wheels (huh? Photo shows WIDE
tires on DEEP Campy' wheels), weighed 585kg & had a top speed of
around 195KPH.
Obviously, there are other years/versions of the 1000 TC, but
this is what I could find at the moment... anyone else have any
specs/photos?

whoops, that was OT, no TC. Hope the email pics still apply. I
was typing with one finger while chatting with owner of the car
on the phone, at the same time checking the daughter's homework,
and the dog was chewing on the phone line plus a meteor shower
was threatening the general well-being of all involved.

Pete:
At least one set of Abarth cars were called 1000 OT and were
based on the 850 Coupe and Spider. Matt Ruiz has some great
data sheets on these cars!

I guess because there were so few of them, I just went brain-
dead. But you're right, the little one was a 1000 OT, too!

Has anybody seen recently an Abarth 1300 OT. It looks a little
like a 246 dino or a porsche 904. It has a 1300 cc engine with a
DOHC head on it. Don't know if it is any relationship to the 128
engine though. It is a mid engine car with the engine in North
south config.
I remember seeing one of these as a teenager and suffering
serious car lust for it. I even had a photocopy of it taken from
one of those "year in automobile books" probably circa 1966.
I wonder what one cost now?
