What does it mean when some of the topic show "empty" instead of how many
unread/read posts there are?

If you call the Schwinn company and ask if their business goes in cycles, do
they refer you to their spokesman?

See above thread, it's some sort of Miraproblem. If you look in the
"empty" areas, you will still find unread threads.

For my screen, it appears that when a new post is made, "empty" disappears and
the count returns. So I've put a number of "test " posts to see if this
is correct.

Has this restored any of the counts for others?

No, and for only the second time ever my preferences were reset. The game's
afoot!

Interesting, six of the eight forums now have the counts restored for me in my
view. But it sounds like it didn't work for anyone else, even though
Gregory's initial response to this thread was what reset the count for me and
gave me the idea to put a new test post in each of the forums. Hmmmmm...

As for the preferences bug, it is believed that this bug has been squished in
the new code. Cross your fingers that this is true!

I lost my prefferenses yesterday too in Tech...
When I tried to use the catch up tool it would not run at all. This was using
Opera, when I got home I was able to run it in Firefox, but it took 3 hours to
mark Tech.

While I was trying to recover from the loss of prefs in Tech BS became all
unread too. Then that cleared itself... strange things afoot... I am assuming
(hoping) that Ravi is close to prime time.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. The issue should now be
resolved and you should no longer have issues with "empty" topics.

We at Mirafiori.com appreciate your feedback and understanding.

Thank you,

Topics in the lower page (from Racers on down) are empty this morning. Even
after popping in, seeing one post is active, and reading it (Jason Miller's
post on Accusump & baffle/crankscraper).
