So,
Its winter and I am trying to figure out where my Sedan sits in its manufacture
year.
There is no nice tag on the door, which I have no idea if its normal for 1967.
I have the Serial number from the body but the mirafiori Model Identification
chart has a big fat "unknown" for a 1967 Sedan Beginning Serial Number.
Would the beginning serial number for the 1968 at least be an indicator as to
the ending serial number?
Anyone out there have any ideas as to a beginning number?
OR
Anyone know where you can find this information out?

I don't think the government required multiple VINs and panel stampings until
the 1970s. Until 1981 or 1982, manufacturers could put anything that wanted on
the VINs. After that they had to go to the 17 digit VIN code.

On my old 68 Ford, you could determine what plant the car was built at (mine
was built in Atlanta), what year, transmission, engine, differential, etc.

I have found only one VIN plate on my 68 Fairlane. It's plate pop riverted on
the inside of the driver's door. Take the door off and the car has no identity.

There is not one on the dashboard. Nor have I found any stampings on the body.

Supposably back in those days there was a number on the engine that matched
the chassis. You know, "All numbers match so the car is worth more".

I don't know if this was a tag riverted to the block or an actual number made
into the block casting. I have found a tag that overlaps one of the bolts that
holds the dipstick bracket in place but it's so old I can't make out the
numbers.

I know this has nothing to do with your 67 sedan but just thought it was worth
mentioning.

This is a good place to start looking and should have the information you're
looking for.

Wow that is a nice resource.
Unfortunately it does not have a section for the 124 Sedan!
Only the Spider and Coupe.
