There is an auction happening in Grass Valley, CA on Saturday, the 5th, abd a
dis-assembled '64 E is up for sale. The car body is mounted on a body
rotisserie that is for sale separately.

Here's the link maybe someone can to the "shorter link" thing.

You're killing me here Mudge. Maybe shouldn't even log onto Mira anymore.

Isn't Grass Valley pretty much in the middle of nowhere? I found a '71 Mercedes
300sel on Craigslist one time that was out in Grass Valley.

If you were in the market it looks like a great project. I wish I had the
resources and time. I don't care if a fully loaded grand caravan actually has
more performance than an e-type. Few, actually obtainable, cars from that era
are as beautiful to my eye.

Grass Valley is about 30 miles North of Auburn. It's a 45 minute drive from my
place. In the big picture it's due east of Marysville on hwy 20. There's also
a multipla body along that hwy that's been there for years. Nobody has touched
it. It's just a shell.

A local St. Louis guy who recently sold his Fiat, is into E-types. Alan, I
wonder if he is still here lurking, and will see this?

I love these cars, had a series 1 coupe I sold by accident at Auburn last fall
and regretted it so much I immediately went out and bought a series 3 (12)
roadster. Nice car but not nearly as sporty as the series 1. much bigger,
more of a gentlemens touring car. Like it none the less.

HOWEVER. this is one of those cars you just dont buy unrestored. trust me
this will bury you. Once they are apart they are very very hard to put back
together. If you see any rust there is a lot more there you cant see until
you completely disassemble the car. Very delicate cars. A glass slipper.
Parts are not cheap.

Wonderful cars but buy the best you can find and you will be lightyears ahead
in the long run
