Hello guys,

I just wanted to point out that the availability of Koni shocks
in Germany went down to zero. Koni will produce them only if
they'll get a 200 unit order (which is far beyond reality). Of
course you can order single units from Koni but they may get
expensive (about 400 DM each).

Sorry for bad news

Just to share the good news, I just got a complete set of Koni's
for my '81 X1/9 for a little under $650. I checked with Summit
Racing (I used to have a couple of '69 Camaros). They have the
rears for about $140 ea. I called Koni when I received them (I
wasn't familiar with hydraulic shocks), talked to some helpful
CSR, and he gave me some leads that lead me to a pair of front
struts. The info is below.
PHONE NUMBERS
Summit 1-800-230-3030
Custom Spares 914-923-2525 (Not set up for credit card orders.
Either
Cash COD or prepaid with M.O. or cert. check)
Hi Performance Dist. 650-755-3350 (Another lead that the guys
from Koni
gave me)
True Choice 614-876-3483 (A Koni rep. who will rebuild struts to
Koni
specs. If I understood the guys correctly, he will take a stock
or OE
strut as a core, and then rebuild it to Koni specs.)
Also, to save you looking them up if you don't have them
memorized,
Front shocks 87-2169
Rear 87-2171
Good luck, and let the races begin!
