I know that's, like HARD to do, but what if everyone took a day
or 2 off, mowed the lawn, beat the dog or wife and met back up
at the big tree?

The 2 major i-car events of the year took place within the last
2 weeks. We all had a blast, got home and started pissing on
each other's legs. 'Supwiddat?

I don't have any answers, but it would sure be nice to have
someone yank out the long forgotten 10 rules of Netiquette.
Without common decency and respect we are lost as an entity.

I worked on Eli unmercilessly for a very long time to add
a 'Clubs' section to the Forum. He finally relented- booted the
scooter stuff and set it up. ( So, I guess this is
all/partially/maybe a little, my fault. Mea Culpa (:

After months of inaction, suddenly the category ignites and we
start using clubs on each other and ignore the original intent
of making a place where Club news can be interchanged and
enjoyed.

Said it before and will say it again. If there was room for one
more category I nominate " Fruitless and Circuitous Political
Discussion". That way those who choose to *hit disturb, spin,
lurk and watch, can have free reign. I can completely ignore the
whole arena and surf i-car *hit with Buds.

Fantasy or wistful reality?

I broke a promise to stay out of this and apologize to all.

_For sure_, no mo later on the matter.

Die, you evil and divisive thread!

You know, KD, I respect you greatly but I have to say that if
anything said in this thread is really causing any harm, then we
all must be taking ourselves way too seriously. It's just a bunch
of words, 99% friendly, on a computer screen.

If any of you all break down anywhere near Pacifica, I'll go out
and rescue you anytime. And then you can stay as long as you
like. Some of you could use the experience more than others, ha!

No, we are not 'good'.
Of course, you and I were down this road once before. And shame
on me for not learning my lesson then. Nothing has changed since
then. Your last reply in the thread above is even more insulting
than the first, and illustrates to me once again you a) have no
desire to see any side other than your own and b) having a
discussion with you is the biggest waste of time I can have on
the internet.
If paying $29 keeps you from coming to FFO, I for one will not
shed a tear. Everyone else, I hope you can make it, I will be
very happy to meet you.
This thread is dead for me.

Gee, thanks. I had a very nice 40min conversation with the FLU
president last night and was quite looking forward to going to
FFO. But I guess if the founder of the club says I'm not welcome,
then I'm not welcome. Oh well. (and that he still thinks it's the
$29 were talking about here proves to me that he's understood
nothing I've been saying, ha!) Of course Oregon and Barf and all
that isn't set up so any one person can invite or disinvite
another, but from my perspective I hope any and all of your feel
welcome and come to one of the events out here.

I don't know how Dwight can say I have no desire to see any side
other than my own. How many times do I have to say that I don't
have a side of my own, and recognize that others can do things
how they want? Heck, I said it even in the last email you say is
so insulting! I just don't get it! Why does pointing out that
there are other ways of doing things, and that one way (FLU's) is
not necessarily better than another (every club out there that
holds and event and doesn't require people to be members), have
to be seen as an insult to FLU?

I started this thread with a simple question. The responses were
from people who totally missed the point and accuses me of being
a fool for complaining about $29, and so more discussion had to
go down. Then misconceptions about both events were posted and
had to be cleaned up. I hope at least that part of the
discussion has been helpful to those of you out there wanting to
learn more about how the events operate.

No one can say otherwise (even Dwight). The Freakout is open to

I'm done with this thread, but I want to set the record straight.
I have no say in who comes to FFO, nor do I want any say. I just
expressed that I wouldn't PERSONALLY be upset if Rich didn't
come.
Rich can do whatever he wants. Won't keep me from coming either.

sorry i brought it up. and hey, boneheads, it was never about
the money...never, ever, ever...just on principle all people
from Ohio and Kansas are required to pay an extare $29..."it's
only $29 measly dollars"!....die dead horse, die, die, die...

Rich:
We may not agree on some things but then, spirited debate is
hard to come by too. You will generally find the crowd at FFO
is congenial and actually laid back, even by Left Coast
standards. Most everyone is just there for the socializing and
common interest in our autos. Be a shame to miss it all over
this little tempest. You got the same reaction as my question
to the family over dinner got in 1968: "Why is it OK to go to
war if the 5th commandment is thou shall not kill? Sounds
pretty absolute to me?" WooHoo, did we have a time with that
one - Dad worked for the US Dept. of Defense at a SAC Air Base!
